abstract shapes autumn orange - Iris Lehnhardt

Two broad bands of rust orange cross a soft peach ground, each one bending in a slow curve so they hook into one another near the centre. The paint is dragged dry, and the bristle marks run the length of every stroke. Where the bands overlap the colour deepens to a burnt brown, and the peach ground is left bare at the edges.

Acrylic laid down in wide sweeping strokes and scraped back so earlier layers show through. Iris Lehnhardt is a German visual artist who works in abstract painting, monoprint and collage, looking for a balance between minimal detail and layered colour. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
