Crashing Man - Luis Valquaresma

A tall arched form rises from the bottom edge, its sides banded in rust red and grey-green, while behind it rings of grey, white and pale green spread outward like a tunnel. At the foot of the arch a small dark figure stands in a burst of white cloud with its arms flung out. The scale between figure and structure is left deliberately unclear.

Painted in oil, the forms modelled in seamless gradients so that soft bodies meet hard edges without a visible brushstroke. Luis Valquaresma is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Vale de Cambra in Portugal. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
