How a Personalised Poster Is Made

A personalised poster is the one product where the customer is also part of the design team. You choose the map, the date, the photos or the words — and we have to turn that into a print that looks as good on the wall as it did on the screen. Here is how that works at ARTSY FARTSY, from the first click to the finished frame.

1. You design it — and see exactly what you get

All our personalised posters are gathered in Create Art, and our newest designs have a live preview on the product page. You type your names, search for an address, upload your photos, and the poster updates as you go. The important part: that preview is drawn by the same engine that makes the print file. What you see is what gets printed — not an approximation, not a mock-up.

2. We check your photo before you buy

The most common disappointment with photo posters is a picture that looks sharp on a phone and soft on a wall. So we check before you pay, not after. For every size, the page calculates the real resolution of your actual file, and if a photo will not hold up at 70×100, it says so plainly. You can then choose a smaller size, or a different photo.

3. Nothing is cut off

Long names get smaller instead of being cut off. A longer quote wraps onto more lines. If you leave a line empty, the layout closes up around it rather than leaving a gap. These sound like details, but they are the difference between a poster that looks designed and one that looks filled in.

4. We print it in Copenhagen

When you order, your poster is printed on demand in our own studio in Copenhagen, on 230 g matte fine art paper. Because it is made to your specification, a personalised poster cannot be returned unless it arrives damaged or incorrect — which is exactly why we show you the whole thing first.

5. Framed, if you want it ready to hang

Frames are available as an add-on and are fitted after printing, so the poster arrives ready for the wall. Oak or black work for almost every design; oak or black frames explains which suits which.
